Production Manager

Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are seeking an experienced Production Manager for our client in the Bridgend area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering biased production management background.

Duties:

  • Control and report on any variance of defined costs in line with an agreed budget. Lead cost reduction and waste elimination initiatives in the manufacturing process. Produce relevant reports and KPIs & communicate performance to all staff within your business area via toolbox talks and other suitable communication channels.
  • Organise and maintain efficient and trained staff at a level required to meet customer demand and improve our business. Create and maintain a working environment conducive to teamwork, goal setting and goal getting
  • Control stock to agreed levels. Ensure products are delivered on time and in full once commitment is given to customers. Right First Time.
  • Ensure that Sage 200 system is used and that accurate system information is maintained.
  • Ensure all NCRs & where appropriate, CC is dealt with on a daily basis.
  • Operate a safe working environment in line with company policies & procedures.
  • Develop key members of staff, utilising both ability and potential. Liaise with the Personnel Department to ensure effective standards of discipline are maintained. Use existing performance appraisal documentation & processes.
  • Promote product and customer awareness among manufacturing & design staff in line with a methodology of continuous improvement and supportive of the company QA/QC policies & procedures. Assist with all relevant QC issues.
  • Ensure that everything carried out in the facility is deemed to be adding value for customers. All departments within your remit must be capable of displaying how they add value to our business, and have visible continuous improvement plans and priority task lists.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained in good working, safe condition.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrable knowledge & experience in lean manufacturing and manufacturing productivity improvements.
  • Minimum Degree or Level 4 VQ in a Manufacturing related discipline

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
