We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with your attention to safety and customer service, will ensure smooth operations and satisfied clients. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle to transport goods to various locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, including flatbed deliveries, ensuring secure and proper handling of items.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues before and after journeys.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel consumption while meeting delivery deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and mileage records.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with customers during deliveries.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record.
- Valid HIAB Licence with/without grab.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver.
- Driver CPC qualification.
- Minimum 6 months experience as a tipper driver.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles.
- Ability to handle physical tasks involved in loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently
- Good geographical knowledge of the South Wales area.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
