Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for a Shift Manager, working within the operations department of a well known manufacturing company.
The successful applicant will be reporting to the Area Operations Manager and will have the following key responsibilities:
· Ensure all required labour is present and allocate accordingly;
· Accomplish the production plan in line with operational standards;
· Periodically check that lines are running at designated speeds;
· Anticipate problems and put actions in place to prevent them;
· Supervise and fire alarm evacuations and subsequent roll call;
· Attend daily production meetings
· Carry out a weekly review of the production plan
· Manage employee holidays and challenge employees directly where appropriate regarding performance, attendance and other relevant HR issues.
· Ensure all staff present adheres to all procedures, in particular regarding Health & Safety, Quality and Production.
· Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· G.C.S.E. English & Mathematics grades A*-D (or equivalent);
· Significant experience working in a FMCG cosmetics or pharmaceutical environment;
· GMP awareness;
· Excellent understanding of safety and environmental issues;
· Excellent understanding of high quality requirements.
· Previous experience of managing a team.
· Good communication skills & attitude;
· Competent & self-motivated;
· Assertive
· IT Literacy
· Able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.
· Although not essential, some engineering experience and knowledge would be advantageous.
This monthly-paid position is offered on the basis of 37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern of mornings and afternoons.
Transport is essential due to location and times of shifts
